“The flowers were painted in August, when the colours in the garden are particularly rich, as if everything is giving its last performance, before returning next year. There is nasturtium, cosmos, gorse, daisy, sweet pea & rose. These are old fashioned flowers & the design has the name ‘Aubrey’, which has a suitably nostalgic feel to it.”
