Botanical Studies

“These were painted in my studio during the autumn. I displayed them on the wall, holding them up with beautiful rusty antique clips and vintage ribbons. Looking at them like this, I thought the display would make a fun wallpaper. I set about doing a trompe l’oeil version of my studio wall. There is quince, pear, apples, rose hip, black berries and sloe berries foraged from a local Dorset wood and my garden. The inclusion of ferns, Ivy and rosemary provide subtle green variations and interesting silhouettes.”
